November 22, 2011 -- Lines, Curves, and Fire
Featured Project -The Gaussian Fire Table
This piece is one variation of a theme that I came up with some months back. The table is
a monolithic, 1-inch-thick, glass-fiber-reinforced concrete (GFRC) shell with... Read more.

January 11, 2012 -- New (Cool) Sinks
We have just completed two new vanity sinks, the Twin Crater sink and the Mississippian
sink. The Twin Crater sink has two basins, the drains resembling buttons pushed down into
a silky concrete cushion, transitioning ever so smoothly to straight edges and a flat center.
The Mississippian sink features a full-length slot drain, an elevated faucet deck, and a
nature-inspired riverbed detail.
Both of these sinks were handcrafted in every aspect right here in our studio. Check them
out here!
February 1, 2012 -- Concrete + Steel + Wood
Click here to view photos of our latest project, a variation of our Mississippian sink design
which evokes tranquility through its gentle slope, its pure white color, and an impression of
a fallen branch. The clean and simple steel vanity base with wooden shelf was also
handmade by us.
March 22, 2012 -- Evening Update
We are always up to something. Right now: experimenting with new techniques to exercise
more of concrete's vast potential. The example to the left is part of a current project to be
unveiled in a few weeks, featuring an original molding technique that we will use to make
some pretty interesting furniture pieces in the future. Also on the table: more kitchen
countertops and custom sinks, including a brand new sink design so captivating that it is
sure to increase hand washing frequency and duration.
If your next project needs a break from the mundane, be sure to give us a call. We can help.
May 2, 2012 -- The Arable Fire Table
Concrete countertops are great. But concrete begs to be so much more. It sits patiently in
the form of dissociated raw materials, waiting for creativity and labor to join in the 3-part
equation. What lies to the right of the equals sign is determined by the imagination.
With this piece, I was inspired by the rough, randomly torn pages of one of my favorite
books. From there, I developed a unique molding technique to form the randomly tattered,
18-layer, monolithic concrete table base.
The top was designed to be raw and unapologetic, much like the base, with functional,
self-draining coasters reminiscent of certain patterns one might find in some wheat field
somewhere.
This particular table features a 24" fire-on-ice feature fueled by either natural gas or propane.
As an alternative, this burner can be replaced with a removable, non-vented bio-ethanol
burner (safe for indoor use). When the burner is removed, the cavity can be filled with ice and
your favorite beverages, and the coasters will drain neatly to the center. With one
conversation-piece of a table, you can keep your warm drinks warm or your cold drinks cold.
Heat up (or cool down) your evenings with one of our custom fire (or ice) tables, and give your
neighbors another reason to come over and enjoy your company.
